Danielle James, DVM

Diplomate, American College of Veterinary Dermatology (DACVD)


Dr. Danielle James, the practice owner, is just one of 250 Board-Certified Veterinary Dermatologists in North America. She graduated from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. After graduation, she worked as a general practitioner in a small veterinary practice in Gainesville, Florida. In 2007, Dr. James started her residency at the prestigious Animal Dermatology Clinic in San Diego under the mentorship of Dr. Craig Griffin and achieved board certification in Veterinary Dermatology in 2010. Dr. James moved back to her native city of Miami in 2011, and prior to opening her own practice, she served as the dermatologist at several Banfield Pet Hospitals throughout South Florida. Dr. James participated as an investigator in a clinical trial of a new allergy medication, and served as a mentor to dermatology residents and senior veterinary students from Western University Veterinary School. In October of 2013, she founded Pet Dermatology of South Florida and opened offices in Kendall and Coral Springs. At this time, Dr. James lectures to local veterinary practitioners for continuing education, and is the previous Chairperson of the Credentials Committee for the American College of Veterinary Dermatology (ACVD), and is the current Chairperson of the Ethics Committees of the American College of Veterinary Dermatology (ACVD).
